I didn't know about LOC-AID until I saw the Verizon release. Top management team, cool dev zone. Nothing flashy, just easy APIs and help for getting your app approved on the carriers. So much hype and flash in the LBS market these days, it's nice to see a company just providing a valuable service at face value (and not trying to be the next Face-Book!)

The demand for location based applications has been building up for quite some time and the fact that Verizon and LOC-AID have teamed up to provide the location API to mobile app developers, is good news. LOC-AID is the only network-centric location enabler in North America that can offer location ubiquity to enterprise developers . I strongly advise developers to get moving on their applications and submit them to LOC-AID (http://developer.loc-aid.com/g... ASAP – this is where most of the other good developers will go.

I think this dock is designed for use with a video display. Depending on what you're trying to do there are probably other solutions that would meet your needs.

Is this possible to set up an ASD-51w without having a monitor attached? Thus far, I can't see how it is possible to set this up without a monitor, which seems like a major shortfall.

Firmware upgrade 1.03 to 1.05 right away. W/o upgrade image is shaky, mic stinks, & won't support 32MB SD. On Mac upgrade is tedious. Tech support is LOUSY. Once you get it upgraded, included software still won't work with Mac. iMovie workarounds.

They need to expain why peak rates matter. We all use the energy we need when we need it. Using it at peak or off peak it's all the same to us consumers.

Why it matters to utilities is that if they can create uniform demand they will need less, peak only generation facilites which saves them capital costs. Lower capital costs tranlsates to lower generation costs and that can result in lower rates overall.

I could hug you right now. I've been trying to figure out how to do this for hours. Thanks a ton for posting this. To those who want to display only 1 and not 4 at a time change ($ads, 0, 4) to ($ads, 0, 1).
